(2) Outbuildings located approximately 1000 ft from the house. BAM is installed in the barn.
120 forested acres
Off-grid
Water supply: well
(2) On-site 480VAC three phase fire pumps
No pool
BAM details:
125 Amp 240’120VAC BAM expandable to 400 Amps Also provides 480VAC, 3 phase supply for fire pumps
Also provides 480VAC, 3 phase supply for fire pumps
Electrical output to house is converted to 600V within our BAM’s cabinets then converted back to 240V at house to facilitate transmission via inexpensive cabling and less line loss.
Fully integrated Main Service Panel with feeds to all subpanels on the property including outbuildings
Battery storage installed: 100kWh, expandable to 250kWh
2 Nano-grids + dedicated DC microgrid control power
At client’s request the system is fully ready to integrate and use grid power in the event it becomes available in the future.
Automatic Load balancing of the two back-up generators
No thermal integration
Whole house A/V system controls
Security and IT infrastructure (servers, routers, computers)
Greatly reduced fuel costs and carbon footprint. Previous system was generator only, Solar array and battery energy storage system now provide for 100% of the property’s energy needs with the generators only operated on an as needed basis when solar production is low and batteries are under 30% capacity.
Full remote monitoring and control with limited remote serviceability means more uptime less mean time to repair. Includes a full suite of usage data, both real time and historical, available anywhere anytime with your connected device.
Enhanced safety: During recent fires, smoke reduced solar production to 3%, we were alerted and remotely shifted to generator power ensuring the batteries were fully charged in the event the fire pumps were called into service and the generators were shut down by the fire crews for safety purposes.
Manual bypass to full generator support via” Frankenstein” switch in the event of an emergency.
System supplies 240/120VAC split phase and 480VAC three phase power
Control software automatically balances the runtime of the two on-site generators.
Zero downtime in 20 months of service since installation. (June 2021)
Built-in N+1 inverter bank redundancy. If an inverter were to fail, there would be no degradation of service. The system would merely alert us to the problem so we could replace the errant inverter when it is convenient. BAM’s™ Inverters are plug n’ play hot swappable. Replaceable with no interruption of service at all
